Goochland County seeks applicants for board and committee vacancies

Goochland County is looking for applicants for openings on the Board of Equalization, the Local Board of Building Code Appeals, the Design Review Committee and the Board of Zoning Appeals. County boards-and-commissions materials say applications and information are available online through the county’s vacancies section.

The Board of Zoning Appeals is the most clearly defined of the open seats. County vacancy materials say it is a seven-member body made up of five regular members and two alternates, with appointments made by the Goochland County Circuit Court on the recommendation of the Goochland County Board of Supervisors.

That board handles appeals of administrative decisions under the zoning ordinance, along with special permits, variances and zoning-map boundary interpretations.
