Goochland County sets tire amnesty and document shredding event

Goochland County has scheduled a tire amnesty and document shredding event for Nov. 14 at Fairgrounds Lot, 2744 Fairgrounds Road in Goochland, giving residents one place to clear out old tires and sensitive paperwork. The county lists the event from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., a window that can save a second trip and a private shredding fee for households with stacks of records or a few unwanted tires.

The county’s Solid Waste & Recycling page places that event alongside separate pages for Convenience Centers, Curbside Recycling and Community Cleanup Resources, showing that Goochland routes disposal problems through more than one county-managed option. For residents sorting a garage cleanout, the practical question is not whether something belongs in the trash, but which county program handles it best.
