Goochland Schools Host Stronger Together Wellness Night, Fun Run
Goochland High School opened its gates at 5 p.m. Wednesday for the district's Stronger Together Wellness Night, capping the evening with a community fun run.

Goochland County Public Schools brought students, families, staff, and community members to Goochland High School on Wednesday evening for its "Stronger Together" Wellness Night, anchored by a Fun Run/Walk that stepped off at 5:30 p.m.
Gates opened at 5:00 p.m., giving attendees time to browse informational booths staffed by school counselors, health educators, and coaches before the run began. The event, organized by GCPS in partnership with Goochland High School, was designed as a low-barrier entry point for families to engage with school wellness resources in a casual, outdoor setting.
The programming offered more than a lap around campus. Health staff, athletics personnel, and parent-teacher groups were on hand, creating an informal space for families to raise questions about school services, schedules, and transportation. The timing was deliberate: with spring sports fully underway, Wednesday night gave families direct access to the coaches and counselors they might otherwise only reach by appointment.
For a rural locality like Goochland, where families can be spread across a wide geography, district events that draw people onto school grounds carry particular weight. GCPS has been building this kind of community investment as part of its broader focus on student and family wellbeing, complemented by after-school programming, summer learning initiatives, and community health partnerships.
Families who missed Wednesday's event can contact Goochland High School or the district directly to request materials that were distributed and to learn about upcoming wellness programming on the calendar.
