Grand Traverse Bay YMCA Offers Childcare, Swim Programs During Spring Break
The Grand Traverse Bay YMCA is running childcare, swim sessions and water aerobics this spring break week for TCAPS families who need coverage.

Working parents in Grand Traverse County who cannot take the week off have a practical option on Silver Lake Road. The Grand Traverse Bay YMCA is running expanded childcare, youth swim sessions, water aerobics, group fitness classes and day-camp-style activity blocks timed to TCAPS and other area school district spring recess calendars.
"Families that are on a staycation can come in here," said President and CEO Andrew Page. "There is a wide variety of other activities that people can participate in."
The 3700 Silver Lake Road facility operates Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Child Watch, the YMCA's drop-in supervised care service, is free to members and runs during regular facility hours. For families needing full-day coverage, the YMCA's licensed Child Development Center operates year-round. The organization serves more than 10,000 program users and members across its three Traverse City area locations through 65-plus programs.
Some classes and childcare slots are capacity-limited, and the YMCA has encouraged advance registration rather than walk-up enrollment. For families without a current membership, Page suggested asking a member for a guest pass as the lowest-cost way to sample the programming before committing.

Non-member rates and session-specific pricing vary by program. Call (231) 933-9622 during facility hours to confirm scheduling, availability and current fees, particularly for limited-enrollment swim or childcare sessions.
TCAPS students are on spring break through this week.
