Traverse City Fireworks Championship Tickets Go on Sale March 16
Poland won last year, but six new world-class teams compete Sept. 11-12 at Turtle Creek Stadium. Presale opens tomorrow at 10 a.m.

Tickets for the fourth annual International Fireworks Championship at Turtle Creek Stadium go on sale to previous purchasers starting tomorrow morning, with the general public getting access next week as Traverse City Tourism prepares to bring six internationally decorated pyrotechnic teams back to Northern Michigan this fall.
The presale window opens Monday, March 16, at 10 a.m. and runs through Sunday, March 22, at 10 a.m., exclusively for previous purchasers on the organizer's email subscriber list. General tickets go on sale Tuesday, March 24, at 10 a.m. All purchases are processed online, with a limit of eight tickets per transaction. ADA tickets are available by phone only at (231) 947-1120.
The two-night event is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 11, and Saturday, Sept. 12, at Turtle Creek Stadium. Six teams that have previously won fireworks competitions will split across both nights, with three teams performing each evening. Each team gets up to 15 minutes to present a pyrotechnic display synchronized to music, and both nights conclude with a special finale.
A panel of pyrotechnic experts will judge the competition on choreography, artistry and synchronization to music, and audience members vote for their favorite team each night. Last year's field included teams from China, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Canada and the United States, with Poland taking the top prize.

"Audiences get to see the work of some of the world's best pyrotechnicians here in Northern Michigan," said Traverse City Tourism President Trevor Tkach. "The artistry and quality of the competitors, who bring their own cultural flair and expertise to the skies, create a spectacular show."
Ticket options range from stadium and field seats to the Pit Spitters Porch, which includes a buffet, and four-person high-top tables. Four-person tables with wait service and private suites are also available. Single-night stadium and field seats run from $45 to $70 before fees, or $49.85 to $77.60 with fees included. The Pit Spitters Porch costs $95, or $103.35 after fees. High-top tables for four are priced at $500, or $528.40 with fees. Two-night stadium and field packages range from $100 to $140, or $112 to $155.20 after fees. Children two years and under are admitted free.
