Greensboro Man, 36, Charged With Murder in City's Third Homicide
Passhion Michael Barr, 36, faces first-degree murder charges after Danny Eugene Williams, 72, was found shot in an apartment on North O'Henry Boulevard Sunday.

Passhion Michael Barr, 36, was charged with first-degree murder Sunday after Danny Eugene Williams, 72, was found bleeding from a gunshot wound in the 3300 block of North O'Henry Boulevard — marking Greensboro's third homicide of 2026.
Greensboro Police, Greensboro Fire, and Guilford County EMS responded to the scene at approximately 4:26 p.m. and located Williams in an apartment suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Life-saving efforts were initiated, but Williams died of his injuries at the scene.
During the investigation, Barr was identified as the suspect and was located and arrested by GPD's VCRT in the 3300 block of Trent Street in Greensboro. In addition to first-degree murder, Barr was charged with possession of a concealed gun, resisting arrest, and two drug-related charges. Court records indicate the drug charges include possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance and simple possession.
In court on Monday, a judge said Barr could face the death penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole. Barr remains in the Guilford County Jail without bond. Warrants in the case may be publicly viewed through Guilford County eCourts.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police say details such as a possible motive are not immediately available for release. Williams' next-of-kin have been notified.
