Greensboro Police Briefly Close Holt Avenue for Investigation, No Threat Found
Greensboro police arrested two people after a firearm discharge call on Holt Avenue around 2 a.m.; no injuries were reported and the road has reopened.
A gunshot call in the early hours of Monday morning prompted Greensboro Police to seal off a stretch of Holt Avenue, leading to two arrests and a brief but notable disruption to the corridor between Delancey Street and Calumet Place.
Officers with the Greensboro Police Department responded to a discharge of a firearm call at approximately 1:52 a.m. GPD set up its perimeter along that block, shutting the roadway to traffic while investigators worked the scene. Two people were taken into custody, and no injuries were reported.
The Greensboro Police Department confirmed there was no threat to the community. No additional suspect information was made available. Holt Avenue has since fully reopened.
The incident drew coverage from multiple local television stations during the early morning hours, when few details were initially available. At one point, GPD officers remained on scene even as the road reopened, with police declining at the time to describe the nature of the investigation beyond confirming the firearm discharge call.
No charges had been publicly disclosed by GPD as of Monday morning.
