Greensboro Woman Charged After Stabbing Victim With Keychain Weapon at Walmart

A woman was stabbed in the parking lot of the Walmart at 4424 W. Wendover Ave. Tuesday evening by an attacker armed with a sharp implement attached to her keychain. Tokyia Brown, 52, of Greensboro, was taken into custody and is now held at the Guilford County Jail without bond on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
Greensboro police responded at approximately 7:26 p.m. on March 31 and found one victim, a woman, suffering from a single stab wound. Her injuries were non-life-threatening, and she was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Arrest warrants confirm Brown used the sharpened keychain attachment as her weapon. Police have not disclosed a motive, and the investigation remains active.
The Wendover Avenue Walmart ranks among the busiest retail destinations on Greensboro's west side, drawing steady foot traffic through the evening hours when Tuesday's attack unfolded. Greensboro police have not released details on camera coverage or patrol activity at the site. The attack adds to a citywide pattern that already places Greensboro at roughly 1.8 times the national crime rate, according to 2024 FBI data, with more than 93% of North Carolina communities recording lower crime rates than the city.
