Guilford County Reschedules Tax Reappraisal Session for Feb. 16 at 6 p.m.
Guilford County will hold a rescheduled tax reappraisal education session tonight at 6 p.m. at NC Cooperative Extension, 3309 Burlington Road in Greensboro.

The Guilford County Tax Department has rescheduled a Tax Reappraisal Educational Session to Monday, Feb. 16, at 6:00 p.m., county officials announced in a Feb. 12 press release. The session is set for the NC Cooperative Extension - Guilford County Center at 3309 Burlington Road; the department’s Instagram listing specifies the time as "Monday, Feb. 16 6-7 p.m. NC Coop. Ext. Guilford Center, 3309 Burlington Rd. Greensboro While we are unable to discuss property tax rates."
County materials state the session will include a presentation on “how property taxes are assessed, how to verify updated property values online, how to navigate the appeal process, and opportunities for exemptions for the elderly and veterans.” The Feb. 12 notice also says county staff will be available to provide one-on-one consultation on eligibility for tax exemptions, giving attendees a chance to speak individually with Tax Department personnel about exemption criteria.
The rescheduling follows a Jan. 26 social media notice that postponed an original Jan. 27 session. The county’s Jan. 26 Facebook post said in part, “The Guilford County Tax Department is postponing the Tax Reappraisal Education Session scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 6.p.m. at the NC Cooperative Extension - Guilford County Center due to inclement winter weather conditions.” That Facebook post drew limited engagement, four reactions, three comments and three shares, and included a graphic labeled “POSTPONED Tax Reappraisal EDUCATION SESSION January 27.”
Public confusion surfaced in the Facebook thread when commenter Wanda Small asked, “Do you have a new date planned?” and later wrote, “Guilford County Government why was it postponed again and with little to no notification. It was still being advertised on the news at lunchtime. About 25 or more people showed up and no one in the building knew anything about the meeting, said it was never a room even reserved for it tonight. There was no snow tonight.” The county responded in the thread that no new date had been set at the time and that rescheduling information would be posted on the county’s reappraisal web page and on social media.
The Instagram caveat, “While we are unable to discuss property tax rates”, limits the session’s scope to assessment mechanics, online value verification, appeals and exemptions rather than rate-setting. That distinction matters for residents seeking immediate answers about how reappraisal will affect tax bills, because the session will not address the tax rates that determine how assessed values translate into payments.
Residents planning to attend should note the two time indicators in county postings: the press release lists a 6:00 p.m. start while the Instagram event lists a 6–7 p.m. window. The county’s Feb. 12 announcement and the social posts direct interested parties to the county’s 2026 reappraisal web page for additional details and materials related to the reappraisal process.
