Nealtown Road Reopens After Motorcycle Crash Shuts Down Greensboro Street
A motorcycle crash left one person critically injured and sealed off Nealtown Road between White Street and October Lane in northeast Greensboro Monday night.

One person was left with critical injuries late Monday when a crash involving a motorcycle shut down Nealtown Road between White Street and October Lane, closing a northeast Greensboro corridor that families near Bessemer Elementary School and Dudley High School depend on as a through route.
Guilford County EMS confirmed the critical injuries. Greensboro Police Department confirmed the closure and launched a crash investigation, but had not released the victim's name, age, or updated hospital status by Tuesday. A WFMY News 2 photographer who went to the scene said a motorcycle appeared to be involved, though police have not issued a formal vehicle count or confirmed that detail in a public statement.
The closed segment connects White Street to the residential streets extending toward October Lane, carrying through traffic from several neighborhoods across the city's northeast side. Greensboro Police did not announce a designated detour, leaving drivers to navigate around the scene independently during the evening hours. The road is now back open, police confirmed, though no specific time of reopening was given.
The cause of the crash is unknown. The current condition of the critically injured person has not been publicly updated, no charges have been announced, and it remains unconfirmed whether additional vehicles beyond the motorcycle were involved. Greensboro Police have not released an incident report or publicly identified a lead investigator.
Nealtown Road has drawn law enforcement to serious incidents along its length before. A prior crash at the road near Canton Avenue left two adults and one child with serious injuries. A separate incident near Alonzo Court ended with a Whitsett man facing felony charges after leading state troopers on a pursuit before striking a tree on the same road. Monday's crash marks at least the third time in recent years the corridor has been shut down for a serious collision response.
