PTI Airport Launches EasyPark Online Parking Reservations March 5

Piedmont Triad International Airport quietly changed the parking experience for Triad travelers last week when it rolled out EasyPark, an online reservation system that lets flyers lock in a spot at the Central Garage or Economy lots before they ever leave the driveway.

Reservations are made through FlyFromPTI.com. Once booked, travelers receive a QR code with their confirmation that they can display on a mobile device or print out for entry. The system does not assign a specific parking space, but PTI guarantees that a space will be available in whichever lot was selected. As the airport's FAQ puts it: "There is not a specific space reserved for you, however, there will always be a space available for you in the lot you booked."

The booking window runs from six months out down to 24 hours before expected arrival, the point at which the system stops accepting new reservations. Once at the airport, EasyPark allows entry up to two hours before or up to two hours after the booked entry time, giving travelers a reasonable buffer for flight changes or traffic delays on I-40.

PTI Airport Authority Executive Director Kevin Baker framed the launch as a quality-of-life upgrade for the airport's passengers. "Our goal is to make the airport experience as smooth as possible from start to finish," Baker said. "By offering advance parking reservations, we're giving travelers one less thing to worry about when preparing for their trip."

The Central Garage, a multi-level structure with 2,000 spaces situated directly across from the terminal building, is one of the two lots available for online booking. Its premium deck sits on the top level approximately 40 yards from the terminal, with a 7-foot clearance height limit. The Economy lot, used primarily for longer-term surface parking, is also bookable through EasyPark. PTI's remaining lots are not part of the online reservation system at this time.

PTI is encouraging travelers to use EasyPark particularly around holidays and other high-volume travel periods, when parking demand at the airport typically spikes. The airport recommends booking well in advance of those dates rather than waiting until the 24-hour cutoff.

Pricing and any associated convenience fees were not disclosed in PTI's launch announcement, and the airport has not yet indicated whether additional lots will be added to EasyPark in the future.
