Southeast Guilford Baseball Shines at High Point Spring Tournament
Pitcher Camden Winfree headlined Southeast Guilford's 2-1 run at the Rockinghoppers tournament, where the Falcons finished third with a 9-5 win over Northern Guilford at Truist Point.

Camden Winfree took the mound at Truist Point Stadium in High Point last Friday, pitching Southeast Guilford through a 4-1 loss to Southern Lee while putting his arm in front of every college scout in the Rockinghoppers tournament field.
The Falcons finished third in the three-day Rockinghoppers High School Spring Tournament, completing the event Saturday with a 9-5 win over intra-county rival Northern Guilford after opening with a victory over Burlington Christian Academy on April 2. The 2-1 run through a regional field gave Southeast's coaching staff a three-game evaluation window ahead of conference play and gave scouts a concentrated look at a program with legitimate pitching depth.
Truist Point, home of the High Point Rockers professional baseball team, raises the stakes for events like this one. College evaluators from Division II and smaller Division I programs use the facility to assess multiple prospects in a compressed schedule, and the professional setting places high school players in an environment closer to what the next level demands. For a Guilford County program, that venue transforms a spring tune-up into a genuine showcase.
Winfree, who wears number 26, faced Southern Lee's Christian Cox in the April 3 matchup, with Cox holding the Falcons to a single run. Center fielder Owen Landreth tracked down fly balls defensively while second baseman Aaron Henderson and catcher Aiden Simmons worked through Cox's arsenal. Left fielder Caleb Jackson also appeared in the lineup as Southeast tried to piece together offense against one of the stronger pitching performances of the tournament.

Saturday's rebound against Northern Guilford showed the full range of Southeast's roster. Carter Reddick took the mound and the Falcons built a lead Northern Guilford could not close. Landreth came through at the plate, driving in pinch runner Landon Morris with a double, and third baseman Jeffrey Harris added a double of his own as Southeast pulled away for the 9-5 final.
As the spring schedule moves toward conference seeding, Winfree, Reddick, Landreth, and every player who logged innings and at-bats in High Point carry those tournament performances into the games that will define Southeast Guilford's postseason positioning.
