Two Injured in Early Morning Greensboro Shooting on East Lewis Street
Two people were shot on the 100 block of East Lewis Street around 12:50 a.m. Sunday; both survived with non-life-threatening injuries as GPD seeks tips.
Two people were injured and taken to a local hospital after a shooting in the 100 block of East Lewis Street around 12:50 a.m. Sunday, the Greensboro Police Department said. Both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were described as recovering.
Officers responded to the scene just before 1 a.m. after reports of gunfire. Police located both victims at the scene; no information has been released about what led to the shooting.
No suspect information has been released as of Monday, and authorities have not said what triggered the incident. The Greensboro Police Department confirmed the investigation remains ongoing.
The shooting added to a stretch of weekend violence that drew concern across Greensboro. A separate incident Friday night sent one person to the hospital after a shooting also on the 100 block of East Lewis Street, according to local coverage, while a wrong-way driver died in a crash on Interstate 40 West at Exit 208 on March 18.
