A carpenter and contractor was found dead inside a home he was renovating in Spring, after his family went to the property when they had not heard from him since Friday afternoon.

Deputies responded to the 23200 block of Goldensong Court in the Northgate Crossing community, where Precinct 4 units found the adult man deceased inside the home. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the circumstances remain under review, and investigators are treating the death as suspicious while they work to determine what happened at the house.

Sgt. Michael Ritchie said the injuries were not consistent with a fall or accident and that the death did not appear natural. Authorities have not publicly released the man’s name, and no suspect has been identified.

The family said they last heard from him around 1 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2026. They went to the house Sunday morning, April 12, and found his body inside, after being told he had been doing carpentry work at the residence. Investigators said the home was being renovated and the owners were not living there, though they have been notified and are cooperating with authorities.

The man’s truck was initially missing from the scene, adding to the questions surrounding his death. Investigators later found the vehicle in Pasadena with four people inside, two adults and two minors. The woman and the two juveniles were released after questioning, while one man, who was reportedly known to have worked with the victim, remained detained for questioning.

No arrests or charges had been filed as of the latest reports, and investigators have not announced a motive. The case is now centered on the timeline between Friday afternoon, when the carpenter was last heard from, and Sunday morning, when his family made the grim discovery in the Northgate Crossing home.
