Drive-by shooting injures three men outside community center in NW Harris County
Three Black men in their early to late 20s were shot outside a community center on Swords Creek Road and rushed to a hospital in one car, the Precinct 4 Constable’s Office said.

Three men were hospitalized after a drive-by shooting outside a community center in the 12100 block of Swords Creek Road in northwest Harris County, according to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office. Deputies surrounded the scene and conducted an active investigation after the shooting, which authorities say left three men with gunshot wounds.
The shooting happened around 6 p.m. Thursday evening near TC Jester and Spears, law-enforcement sources said. Images from the scene showed several law-enforcement vehicles and deputies conducting an investigation in the Heritage Village HOA area, and precinct officials urged the public to avoid the immediate area while detectives worked.
Precinct 4 Captain Buddy Gheen told ABC13 the three injured men were Black and “in their early to late 20s” and that they “were rushed to the hospital using one car.” KHOU reported the victims transported themselves by private vehicle; as of initial reports, authorities had not released their medical conditions and no arrests were reported.
Investigators have begun piecing together a preliminary timeline from neighborhood surveillance footage. According to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, detectives “gathered surveillance footage from nearby homes and determined that two men were engaged in an illegal narcotics transaction at the Heritage Village HOA community.” Capt. Gheen said that “a struggle ensued, where the two individuals exchanged gunfire before fleeing the scene,” and that detectives are treating the incident as an active investigation.
Deputies also recovered a firearm from the vehicle that the three men rode in. Gheen told ABC13 that “they did find a gun in the car that the three men rode in, but it's too early to say if any of the victims are considered suspects.” Authorities are searching for an additional vehicle described by investigators as a white sedan; it has not been publicly linked to any arrests.
The Precinct 4 Constable’s Office advised residents to take safety precautions and to help investigators. In a social-media post quoted by KHOU, the office said: “Please avoid the area and report any information to law enforcement.” KHOU and ABC13 described the situation as developing and recommended that anyone with information contact authorities; the local station listed a newsroom tip line at 713-521-4310 and a news email for submitting leads.
This remains an active investigation by Harris County Precinct 4. ABC13 reporter Luke Jones and local broadcasters are following the scene for updates as investigators work to confirm the full sequence of events and identify any additional vehicles or suspects.
