Hit-and-Run Crash on Spring Stuebner Road Injures Toddler, 2 Others

A toddler and two other people were hospitalized after a major rollover crash on the 8000 block of Spring Stuebner Road near Indigo Ruth Drive in north Harris County, and the driver believed to be at fault fled the scene before deputies arrived.

The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office confirmed that one of the vehicles involved rolled over in the crash, which occurred Monday. All three victims were transported to hospitals, though their conditions were not immediately released. Investigators are now canvassing the area around Spring Stuebner Road and Indigo Ruth Drive for surveillance video that could help identify the fleeing vehicle.

Authorities warned drivers to expect delays and to avoid the roadway if possible while the investigation remained active. No additional details were released about what led to the crash, and no description of the suspect vehicle had been made public as of the latest reports.

The crash is one of two separate toddler-involved incidents that drew law enforcement responses across Harris County in recent days. On Sunday, Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a crash in the 15400 block of North Brentwood Drive, near Woodforest Boulevard and Dell Dale Street in east Harris County, where a child believed to be about 2 years old was struck by a vehicle. Channelview EMS transported that toddler to a nearby hospital. In contrast to the Spring Stuebner hit-and-run, the driver in the Brentwood crash remained at the scene and was cooperating with the Sheriff's Office investigation. That child's condition was also not immediately released.

The two incidents involved different agencies, different locations, and different driver conduct, and no official confirmation has linked them as related events. Precinct 4 has not released additional details about the number of vehicles involved in the Spring Stuebner crash or the ages and identities of those hurt.
