Houston police released surveillance video capturing a person leaving the scene of a fatal shooting at 3801 Hollister Street in northwest Houston, hoping the footage will generate tips in a case that has gone unsolved since the March 28 killing.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, was found unresponsive on the sidewalk outside the address with multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is working to verify his identity.

Officers from HPD's Northwest Patrol Division responded to the shooting call and found the victim after the gunfire had already ceased. No witnesses came forward in the immediate aftermath, and investigators have established no known motive.

The newly released surveillance footage shows a person departing the scene and represents the most concrete lead investigators have made public. HPD has not named the individual a suspect, but detectives believe someone in the community recognizes the person captured on camera.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. Crime Stoppers tips that lead to a charge and filing can result in a cash reward of up to $5,000.
