Thomas Jaden Osborne has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of 21-year-old Adam Pineda, whose body was found inside his pickup truck on Vistadale Drive in a Humble-area neighborhood, according to court records and the Harris County Sheriff's Office. The arrest was reported Tuesday, March 25, roughly two and a half months after the killing.

Pineda was shot around 4 p.m. on January 10 near the intersection of Vistadale Drive and Beigewood Drive. Harris County investigators said he had arrived in the area for a pre-arranged meeting. What followed was a coordinated ambush.

"Once our victim arrived in the area, we believe that he met these individuals that he had come here to meet — and at some point those individuals charged on our victim, shooting inside the truck, striking him and killing him at the scene," investigators said in January.

Pineda's truck came to rest in the middle of the street in a neighborhood where his family once lived. He died at the scene.

Deputies believe four to five suspects took part in the attack. The individuals were last seen wearing dark clothing, with several wearing ski masks. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez previously said the shooting may have been tied to a robbery, though investigators have not publicly confirmed a motive.

Osborne's arrest represents one charge in a case that remains open. Authorities continue to believe four to five suspects were involved in the confrontation, suggesting others may still be at large. If additional suspects are identified and arrested, prosecutors will determine charges in consultation with the Harris County District Attorney's Office.

Pineda's family remembered the Klein Collins graduate as a beloved big brother and devoted boyfriend who had previously survived a serious car crash. His mother, Amber Razo Pineda, spoke about her son in January.

"He was just so giving," she said. "He has a name, he's not a man who was killed. He was a boy that was loved with a family that cared for him, would do anything for him."

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Harris County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers.
