Man Found Shot Dead on Calhoun Road, HPD Seeks Suspects
A 26-year-old man was found shot dead in the street at 7441 Calhoun Road Saturday evening; HPD has no suspects or motive.

A 26-year-old man lay dead in the street at 7441 Calhoun Road Saturday evening after officers patrolling the area heard multiple gunshots and rushed to the scene, only to find him already down with multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced him dead at the location. The shooting occurred at approximately 6:35 p.m. on March 21.
The victim's identity has not been released. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is responsible for notifying next of kin before any identification is made public.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Amri and H. Montealegre-Cerrato are leading the investigation under incident number 037040226. According to the department's official account of events, officers did not witness the shooting itself; they were nearby on patrol when gunfire erupted and responded to the address. They rendered first aid while waiting for paramedics, but the man could not be saved. "At this time there is no known suspect(s) or motive," HPD stated in its release.
The stretch of Calhoun Road has seen more than one deadly incident in recent months. A separate fatal shooting at 7402 Calhoun Road, roughly four-tenths of a mile from Saturday's scene, claimed the life of a 26-year-old woman on February 8. That earlier case, handled by Detectives A. Rodriguez and M. Cater, involved a physical altercation in an apartment complex parking lot that escalated before a suspect opened fire. The two incidents involve different addresses, different victims, and separate investigative teams.
Anyone with information about the March 21 shooting is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
