Man's Body Found in Cedar Bayou Near Baytown, Foul Play Not Suspected

A deceased man was found in Cedar Bayou near the 4800 block of Spring Lane in Baytown's Whispering Pines neighborhood on the morning of Saturday, March 7, after a caller reported seeing a body in the water.

Baytown Police, along with Fire and EMS crews, arrived around 10:50 a.m. to the area near Gulfway Drive. Responding officers found the man in the water near the bank behind a residence. The department's Dive Team, Crime Scene Units, and detectives were called in to assist with the investigation.

The body was turned over to the Harris County Medical Examiner for further examination. Baytown Police said preliminary information does not point to foul play, though the case remains active. "Investigators said they do not suspect any foul play at this time, and the case remains under investigation," Baytown PD said.

No identification has been released, and no cause of death has been determined. Authorities said new information may still surface as they await the medical examiner's findings.
