Pedestrian Killed in Cloverleaf Hit-and-Run, Driver Flees Scene
A man pushing a cart on Manor Street in Cloverleaf was struck, carried 50 feet, and left to die; the driver fled and no suspect has been named.

A man pushing a cart along the 500 block of Manor Street in Cloverleaf was struck by a white vehicle that carried him roughly 50 feet before the driver fled east Harris County's pre-dawn streets Sunday, abandoning him on the pavement where he was later pronounced dead.
Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies received a call at 3:16 a.m. and arrived on Manor Street, near East Sam Houston Parkway North, to find emergency medical personnel already at the scene administering aid. Despite the response, the victim, a man estimated to be in his late 40s to early 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Witnesses told investigators the man had been walking southbound on Manor Street, pushing a cart, when the vehicle struck him. The collision carried him approximately 50 feet from the point of impact before the driver continued without stopping.
HCSO Lt. Roosevelt Berry said investigators are searching for a white vehicle, possibly a sedan. That description remains the only information available on the suspect vehicle. No partial plate number, make, model, or direction of travel has been identified, and no suspect information has been released.
No arrests have been made. The Harris County Sheriff's Office is treating this as an active investigation, with the search for the driver dependent in large part on public tips. Anyone with information about the white vehicle or its driver is asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers.
