Silver Alert Issued for Missing 70-Year-Old Man With Dementia Near Spring

Benjamin Blount, 70, was found safe after Harris County authorities issued a Silver Alert when he disappeared from the 500 block of Cypress Station Drive near I-45 in the Spring area of north Harris County around 4 p.m. on March 12.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said Blount had dementia and may be "confused or disoriented" at the time of his disappearance. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket, blue shirt, blue jeans and black shoes. Cypress Station Drive runs close to the North Freeway corridor, a stretch of north Houston where a vulnerable adult on foot would face significant risks navigating traffic and unfamiliar surroundings.

The Texas Center for the Missing confirmed that Blount was subsequently located safe and that his Silver Alert had been canceled. No details about where he was found, who located him, or his condition at the time of recovery were made available. As Fox26 noted in its coverage: "No other details are available."
