Teen Charged After Fatal Hit-and-Run Claims 76-Year-Old Man in Northwest Houston
An 18-year-old fled after fatally striking 76-year-old Rafael Navarro Jaurequi on North Houston Rosslyn Road, then returned to the scene and was arrested.

Rafael Navarro Jaurequi was crossing North Houston Rosslyn Road from west to east at roughly 3:55 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, when a white Toyota Camry headed north struck him in the 9900 block. The Houston Fire Department pronounced the 76-year-old dead at the scene.
The Camry kept going before anyone could step in to help, according to investigators. Police later identified the driver as 18-year-old Eli Anthony Lobo Doblado. He did not stay gone. Doblado returned to the crash site, where deputies with Harris County Constable Precinct 1 took him into custody.
After consultation with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, Doblado was booked into Harris County Jail on a felony charge of failure to stop and render aid. The case has been assigned to the 183rd Criminal District Court, according to the Houston Police Department. Doblado remained in custody after booking.

Investigators are still gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses as the case moves toward arraignment. They are particularly looking for additional witnesses and any video footage captured near the 9900 block of North Houston Rosslyn Road around 3:55 p.m. on March 22.
