Teen Ejected, Killed After Vehicle Runs Stop Sign in North Harris County
A teenager was ejected and killed Wednesday when a car full of teens ran a stop sign at high speed on Richcrest Drive in Harris County's Greenspoint area.

At the 1100 block of Richcrest Drive near West Hardy, a car carrying multiple teenagers ran a stop sign at high speed Wednesday evening and slammed into another vehicle, ejecting one of its teen occupants. That teenager did not survive.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office confirmed the crash occurred in the Greenspoint area of north Harris County. The at-fault vehicle struck a second car that had a single occupant inside; authorities did not release information about that person's condition.
The Sheriff's Office Vehicular Crimes Division responded to the scene and began working to establish how the collision unfolded. Investigators gathered witness statements and examined physical evidence at the Richcrest Drive and West Hardy intersection, analyzing damage patterns and skid marks left by what the Sheriff's Office described as a car moving at a high rate of speed.
Ejection during a collision significantly elevates the risk of fatal injury. Investigators did not confirm whether occupants of the at-fault vehicle were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and the exact count of teenagers in that car was not released beyond that multiple teens were inside.

No charges had been filed as of the initial law enforcement report. The Sheriff's Office noted that charges, including criminally negligent homicide or other traffic-related offenses, could be considered depending on what the investigation determines about the conduct that contributed to the fatality.
The identity of the teenager who died was withheld pending next-of-kin notification. Anyone with information or video footage of the crash was asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff's Office or local tip lines.
