Three people with gunshot wounds arrived at HCA Houston Healthcare on Cypress Creek Parkway after a reported drive-by shooting near the 12100 block of Swords Creek Road, prompting Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators to respond at the hospital late Thursday afternoon. Click2Houston reported HCSO investigators rushed to the 700 block of Cypress Creek Parkway after the victims showed up with multiple gunshot wounds.

The shooting scene is concentrated in northwest Harris County near Swords Creek Road and the intersections of TC Jester Boulevard and Spears Road, FOX26 reported, and deputies were asking people to avoid the area while investigators worked. Multiple outlets said the injured were transported to the hospital by a personal vehicle; ABC13 noted the three victims were “rushed to the hospital using one car.”

Accounts of who was shot differ across reports. ABC13, citing Precinct 4 Constable’s Office Captain Buddy Gheen, said “there were three Black men in their early to late 20s, who sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to the hospital using one car.” A KMPH report gave a different description: “The victims, said to be two women and a man, were shot as they waited for someone they were arguing with earlier in the day. That’s when officers say someone drove by and started shooting, hitting the three victims and their vehicle.” Those conflicting descriptions have not been reconciled publicly by investigators.

Precinct 4 detectives were actively gathering evidence at the scene and at nearby homes. ABC13 attributed this account to Captain Gheen: “detectives gathered surveillance footage from nearby homes and determined that two men were engaged in an illegal narcotics transaction at the Heritage Village HOA community.” ABC13 also said “a struggle ensued, where the two individuals exchanged gunfire before fleeing the scene,” and that law enforcement recovered a firearm in the car the three rode in while adding “it's too early to say if any of the victims are considered suspects.” FOX26 and Click2Houston reported deputies remained at the Swords Creek Road area conducting an investigation.

Click2Houston conveyed investigators’ caution about details: “The circumstances of the shooting remain unclear, and officials are hoping to learn more upon speaking to the victim.” KPRC and FOX26 likewise reported HCSO personnel responded to the hospital to interview the wounded and to piece together a timeline of events from Thursday evening.

KMPH’s report included two additional lines that require verification for a Harris County story: “Officers say the victims are expected to recover and anyone with information regarding the shooting can call Crime Stoppers at 559-498-STOP.” The 559 area code is associated with Fresno, so that tip line should be confirmed with local authorities before use. For now, investigators with Harris County Sheriff’s Office and Precinct 4 continue to investigate the incident and have asked anyone with information to contact local law enforcement.
