Relatives who had been unable to reach a young woman for several days asked apartment management for help Tuesday, and she was later found dead inside a Cypress Station unit.

Harris County deputies were called around 5:30 p.m. on May 12, 2026, to 905 Cypress Station, a property one report identified as The Arden at Cypress Station apartments. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the call came after family members contacted management because they could not get in touch with their daughter.

Management entered the apartment before deputies arrived and found the woman dead inside. Investigators said she appeared to be in her early 20s and had suffered severe trauma. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the death is being treated as a homicide while detectives wait for an autopsy from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Detectives with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division and crime scene investigators responded to the complex and began collecting evidence. Investigators were reviewing surveillance video from inside and outside the property and speaking with family members and neighbors to piece together the woman’s recent activities and relationships.

Deputies said there were no signs of forced entry and no obvious suspects had been identified. Investigators also said they believed the woman may have been dead for no more than a couple of days by the time she was found.

The case has put a spotlight on what happened inside the apartment and on the security of the complex itself, as investigators work to determine how the woman died and whether anyone else was involved. For now, the central facts remain tightly focused: a family’s days-long inability to reach her, a management check that turned into a death investigation, and a homicide probe in north Harris County that has not yet produced an arrest or identified suspect.
