Father and Son Arrested in Brooksville Drug and Weapons Bust
Hernando County detectives and a SWAT team executed a search of a Wildwood Drive residence in Brooksville on November 27, recovering fentanyl, cocaine, prescription pills, marijuana, ammunition and drug paraphernalia. The operation led to three arrests, including a father who will be held without bond and a son charged after a stolen firearm was found in his bedroom, matters that affect public safety and the community at large.

Hernando County detectives, assisted by a SWAT team, searched a Wildwood Drive home in Brooksville on November 27 as a follow up to an earlier traffic stop. Investigators recovered multiple controlled substances including fentanyl and cocaine, prescription medications, marijuana, ammunition and drug paraphernalia during the search, authorities reported to FOX 13.
Three people were booked following the search. Robert Wright Jr., 46, was found in possession of fentanyl and faces multiple drug related charges. Wright Jr. will be held without bond. His son, Robert Wright III, 20, was charged with possession of a stolen firearm after deputies located the weapon in his bedroom. A third person, identified as 23 year old Nikilya Davis, was also booked on drug possession charges.
The arrests underscore local law enforcement efforts to interrupt drug distribution and weapons access in Hernando County. Fentanyl is a potent opioid linked to rising overdose deaths nationally and in Florida, and its recovery in a residential search highlights ongoing public health and safety concerns for Brooksville residents. The presence of a stolen firearm raises additional questions about violent crime risk and illegal weapons circulation in the region.

Sheriff office officials framed the operation as a direct result of coordinated investigative work after the traffic stop, demonstrating how routine encounters can lead to broader enforcement actions. The incident may prompt closer attention to neighborhood safety among residents along Wildwood Drive and nearby streets, and could lead to increased patrols or community outreach from the Hernando County Sheriff Office.
Legal proceedings are expected to continue in the coming weeks as charges are filed and the county prosecuting authorities review the evidence. For residents, the case is a reminder of broader challenges across the county and state related to illicit drugs and stolen firearms, and of the role of local policing in addressing those risks.
