Spring Hill FASTSIGNS Owner Builds Business Through Community Giving
Ross Cartwright's Spring Hill sign shop earned national recognition after wrapping a trailer for Springstead High School's marching band, prompting a $1,000 donation to Hernando County Schools.

A trailer wrap for Springstead High School's marching band turned into national recognition for Ross Cartwright and his five-person Spring Hill sign shop, with FASTSIGNS International responding by donating $1,000 to Hernando County Schools.
The project earned the shop a FASTSIGNS Cares award, a corporate recognition that highlights franchise community involvement. The accompanying $1,000 donation to Hernando County Schools extended the project's impact beyond the band trailer itself, directing funds to the district that houses the program.
Cartwright purchased FASTSIGNS of Spring Hill in August 2022, bringing with him an unusual depth of company knowledge: he had worked as a FASTSIGNS corporate trainer before buying the Spring Hill location, giving him operational fluency that accelerated the shop's early build-out. He relocated to the area with his wife and family, growing the franchise into a team of five that now handles event banners, vehicle wraps, large-format exterior signage, and safety film installations.
Beyond Springstead, Cartwright has directed work toward first-responder units and public facilities throughout Hernando County, providing signage upgrades and safety-oriented installations that carry no obvious commercial payoff but generate consistent referrals and repeat business. That approach, treating community visibility as a long-term investment rather than an expense, has shaped how the shop competes in a market where smaller operators often struggle to build name recognition against regional and online alternatives.
Schools and civic groups that cannot absorb the cost of professionally installed graphics represent a meaningful share of FASTSIGNS of Spring Hill's community portfolio. A wrapped marching band trailer travels to competitions and parades across the region, functioning as mobile advertising for both the school program and the shop that built it.
The FASTSIGNS Cares recognition marked the first time the Spring Hill franchise drew corporate-level attention for its community work. With a client base that now spans first-responder agencies, public facilities, and Hernando County Schools, Cartwright has built a shop that treats local relationships as the foundation of its business model rather than a footnote to it.
