Spring Hill Massage Spa Heavily Damaged by Morning Dryer Fire

A fire that broke out in a dryer heavily damaged Asian Massage Therapy at 7243 Forest Oaks Blvd. in Spring Hill on Tuesday morning, hospitalizing one person and prompting Hernando County Fire Rescue to urge the public to stay away from the surrounding area.

HCFR responded to the 7200 block of Forest Oaks Blvd. around 10 a.m. on March 31. Crews attributed the fire to a dryer and extinguished the blaze, but not before the commercial space sustained heavy damage.

One civilian was transported to a local hospital in stable condition for smoke inhalation. Officials have not disclosed whether the person was an employee or a customer, and no updates to their condition have been released.

The full financial toll on Asian Massage Therapy remains unresolved. No estimated damage cost, insurance assessment, or reopening timeline has been announced publicly, leaving open questions about how many employees are affected and when the business might resume operations.
