A 43-year-old Spring Hill man told investigators after his arrest that the 96.6 grams of methamphetamine and the ammunition found at his Coronado Drive home were his, a statement that compounded an already serious trafficking case with a separate felony firearms charge.

Michael Lynch was among two people taken into custody when Hernando County Sheriff's Office Vice and Narcotics detectives, backed by the HCSO SWAT team, executed a search warrant at the Coronado Drive residence on April 6. The operation also produced the arrest of 22-year-old Jada French on fentanyl possession and drug paraphernalia charges.

Lynch's post-Miranda admission directed investigators toward the full weight of the evidence: three counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, three counts of possession of a structure for trafficking, and one count of possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. His prior felony record transformed the ammunition discovery into a standalone criminal allegation. He was held without bond and processed at the Hernando County Detention Center. French's bond was set at $6,000.

The search recovered 96.6 grams of methamphetamine, 1.2 grams of fentanyl, and 143.7 grams of promethazine hydrochloride, a prescription-strength cough suppressant that frequently surfaces alongside illicit drugs. Investigators also seized multiple rounds of ammunition and drug paraphernalia. The structure-for-trafficking counts, which carry enhanced penalties if prosecutors can demonstrate the property was used to sell or distribute controlled substances, signal investigators believe the Coronado Drive address functioned as more than a personal-use location.

The Vice and Narcotics unit has run multiple undercover operations targeting distribution networks across Hernando County in recent months, and the agency characterized this raid as a product of that sustained investigative work. The simultaneous recovery of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and a controlled pharmaceutical reinforced the trafficking focus of the charges against Lynch.

Anyone with information related to the Coronado Drive investigation is asked to contact Hernando County Crime Stoppers.
