Lordsburg City Council Meets April 22 at Council Chambers

Lordsburg's City Council will convene Wednesday, April 22, at 5:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers at 409 W. Wabash Street, the next formal opportunity for residents of Hidalgo County's seat to address elected officials before municipal decisions are finalized.

The city posted the official public notice on its website during the first week of April, meeting New Mexico's open-meeting statute requirements for advance public notice. No full agenda has been released yet, but the city is expected to publish a complete agenda packet, along with any supporting resolutions or ordinances, on its website in the days immediately before April 22.

Council sessions in Lordsburg are where the mayor and councilors take action on the full scope of municipal business: budget amendments, grant acceptance and reporting, contract approvals, infrastructure decisions, staffing appointments, and local code enforcement. For Hidalgo County's county seat, those votes carry tangible consequences for utility rates, street repairs, public-safety contracts, and permitting.
