Lordsburg City Hall at 409 W. Wabash St. is switching to a four-day operating schedule beginning the week of Monday, March 30, 2026, cutting Fridays entirely and pulling the opening hour back to 7 a.m.

The city posted a public notice on March 23 announcing the revised weekday hours. Under the new schedule, City Hall will be open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and closed on Fridays. The shift represents a meaningful change from the hours that had been in effect: as recently as January 7, 2026, city job postings listed normal business hours as Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with applications and job descriptions available for pickup at City Hall.

The new schedule adds an hour at the front of each weekday, opening at 7 a.m. rather than 8 a.m., while eliminating Friday access to in-person services entirely. Anyone who previously relied on Friday visits to City Hall for utility billing, permits, or other municipal business will need to plan accordingly beginning next week.

City Hall is located at 409 W. Wabash St., Lordsburg, NM 88045, and can be reached by phone at (575) 542-3421. The city has not publicly stated whether phone or online services will follow the same revised schedule, and no official comment on the rationale for the change has been released.

The announcement lands against a backdrop of active city business. The city has been accepting applications for a Police Officer position, both certified and uncertified, and separately for a Maintenance/Utilities Labor position. Both hiring notices had directed applicants to pick up materials at City Hall during the previously listed weekday hours; anyone still seeking to apply in person should now account for the updated Monday-through-Thursday window.

The city also disclosed in late December that its water system had recently violated a drinking water standard, noting that while the situation was not an emergency, residents had a right to know what happened and what was being done to correct it. A Fluoride MCL Notice with full details was made available through the city's website.

The March 30 schedule change takes effect six days from the date the notice was posted, giving residents less than two weeks' advance notice to adjust how they access City Hall services.
