Hiland Report Cards Sent Home as East Holmes Begins Spring Break

Hiland students carried home report cards on March 20, three days before East Holmes Local School District closed for spring break, which runs March 23 through March 27.

The report cards covered the third nine-week grading period, which ended March 13 for Hiland grades 7 through 12. That period spanned 48 days, the longest of the three completed marking windows in the 2025-2026 school year. By comparison, the first nine-week period ran August 20 through October 16 and the second ran October 20 through December 19, each logging 41 days.

The March 20 distribution follows the same pattern established earlier in the school year. Hiland families received first-period report cards on September 24, 2025, the week after the September 16 end of the first nine-week period. Second-period report cards went home January 9, 2026, shortly after school resumed January 5 from the winter break.

The spring break window closes out a dense stretch of the academic calendar. Before the break, the district also observed Good Friday on April 3 as a no-school day. When students return, the next scheduled early dismissal falls April 2, one of seven two-hour early-release days built into the year for staff professional development, alongside dates on September 24, October 16, November 11, December 10, January 6, and February 12.

The district has also identified five priority make-up days if needed: February 16, May 28, May 29, June 1, and June 2. The last day of school for students is currently set for May 27, with an early dismissal of two hours. Hiland graduation is scheduled for May 17, 2026.
