The Holmes County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who saw a pickup truck and trailer involved in an early-morning crash to come forward with details that could identify the vehicle and help move the investigation ahead. The department has not released a crash location or information about injuries.

Anyone with a tip can call the sheriff’s office anonymous crime tip line at 330-674-7018. Non-emergency calls can go to 330-674-1936, and emergencies should be reported by calling 911.

The request centers on a vehicle description investigators say they still need: a pickup truck and trailer linked to the crash. That kind of detail can be crucial in Holmes County, where early-morning traffic often includes farm equipment, work trucks and trailers moving between townships, villages and county roads before daylight. A driver who was on the road at that hour may have seen the truck, the trailer, or the direction it traveled after the crash.

Sheriff Timothy W. Zimmerly leads the Holmes County Sheriff's Office, which says it employs about 56 people and maintains full police jurisdiction across the county. The office says it was first established in 1824 and moved into its current building in October 1994.

The department also directs the public to its crash-report system, where current and past year reports can be searched online. The Ohio Department of Public Safety says crash reports may take up to six weeks to appear in the state system, so some information can lag behind the incident itself.

The sheriff’s office has recently used public releases to detail major roadway crashes in the county, including fatal wrecks in Beach City and Berlin Township, and investigators may release more information as this case develops. For now, the focus remains on identifying the pickup and trailer and finding anyone who saw the crash happen or noticed the vehicle afterward.
