West Holmes Baseball Knights Top Clear Fork 8-4 in Early-Season Home Win
Knights hand Clear Fork its first road loss of 2026 in an 8-4 win; Dover visits Millersburg on Tuesday at 5 p.m. for the next home test.

West Holmes High School, 10909 OH-39 in Millersburg, hosted its first varsity baseball win of the season Saturday when the Knights defeated Clear Fork 8-4 in a nonconference matchup on March 28.
The Colts made the trip from Bellville for their first road game of the season and returned home without a win. West Holmes controlled the margin throughout, finishing four runs ahead in a result that signals something useful for a program entering conference play: the Knights can close out a nonconference opponent at home with a lead to spare.
In north-central Ohio's small-school baseball landscape, that kind of early nonconference win carries weight beyond the final score. Games like this one let coaches test the pitching staff across multiple arms before league standings matter, give the lineup real at-bats against unfamiliar pitching, and allow position players to build plate confidence before April's schedule turns serious. Clear Fork, which came in as the first road test of the year, gave West Holmes an honest measuring stick. The Knights answered with eight runs and held the Colts to four.
The immediate reward for Saturday's home win is a tougher assignment just three days later. Dover visits Millersburg on Tuesday, March 31 at 5:00 p.m. The Crimson Tornadoes are one of northeast Ohio's established programs and a legitimate read on where the Knights' rotation and lineup stand before conference games begin. Two home wins in four days would tell a much clearer story about West Holmes' ceiling this spring than any single March result could on its own.
