The West Holmes Local Schools Board of Education approved financial reconciliations, reviewed policies on overdose reversal drugs and cultivated-protein food products, and heard updates on a K-5 building project during its regular March 16 meeting at Nashville Elementary.
On the financial side, the board approved the month-end reconciliation and investments as of Feb. 28, along with the financial report by fund of expenditures and unencumbered balances and the financial summary for the same period. The board also approved the agenda and minutes from its previous regular meeting.
Policy reviews covered three topics: the procurement and administration of overdose reversal drugs, misbranded and cultivated-protein food products, and entrance age requirements. The research notes do not specify whether the board formally adopted the policies or advanced them through a first reading.
Superintendent updates to the board included committee reports, an FFA update, curriculum updates, and a progress report on the district's K-5 building project. Construction on the new building has reached the concrete slab and framing stage, based on images from the meeting.
Nashville Elementary Principal Brian Zimmerly gave a presentation spotlighting Mrs. Kurtz's class, which included an interview with the class's Eagle Experts. The board also approved several personnel actions, though specific names and positions were not immediately available.
