Family seeks help finding missing Eureka teen last seen in Arcata
Talia Evelyn Rose, 14, vanished after leaving her Eureka home April 8 and was last seen in Arcata. A later update said she was home safe.

A Eureka family’s search for 14-year-old Talia Evelyn Rose ended in relief after a later update said she was home safe at 9:12 p.m. Before that, relatives had asked Humboldt County residents to help find the Eureka-area teen after she left home Tuesday morning, April 8, and had not been in contact since.
Her father said Talia was last seen in Arcata. The family said no one they knew had seen or spoken with her for a couple of days, and that a missing-person report had been filed. They were in contact with the Eureka Police Department, which listed her on its missing-persons board.
The family asked anyone with information to call the Eureka Police Department at 707-441-4060, or 911 if the situation was urgent. In a case involving a 14-year-old, every verified sighting matters, especially when the last known location is across the county line in Arcata and the teen has been out of contact long enough for police to open a formal missing-person case.
Humboldt County law enforcement has used public alerts and coordinated searches in other juvenile cases. In one Arcata Community Forest search, Arcata Police, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue, the U.S. Coast Guard, California Highway Patrol Northern Air Operations, Arcata Fire District and Cal Poly Humboldt Police Department all took part before the teen was found safe. The county Sheriff’s Office also maintains an unsolved-cases page and a crime tip line at 707-268-2539 for information on missing-person investigations and other unresolved cases.
