Humboldt Realtors Host Housing Town Hall With State Assemblymember in Eureka
Humboldt realtors gathered at 220 First St. in Eureka Friday with Assemblymember Chris Rogers to tackle rural housing, CEQA reform, and the proposed Humboldt Bay Heavy Terminal project.

The Humboldt Association of Realtors brought together local real estate professionals and state leadership Friday morning at 220 First St. in Eureka for a housing-focused town hall running from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with California Assemblymember Chris Rogers serving as keynote speaker.
The event, organized as an Agent Town Hall for HAR members, gave real estate professionals direct access to Rogers to discuss housing challenges and legislative efforts tied to affordability and regional development on the North Coast.
Organizers lined up a broad agenda anchored in Humboldt County's specific pressures. Planned discussion points included rural housing challenges, the region's housing allocation requirements, current state legislation, and affordable housing efforts. The conversation was also expected to extend into potential reforms to the California Environmental Quality Act, access to rural health care, and the proposed Humboldt Bay Heavy Terminal project, all of which organizers framed as interconnected with broader housing and development concerns.

The Humboldt Association of Realtors said the discussion aimed to highlight local concerns while connecting them to ongoing policy conversations at the state level.
The Heavy Terminal project and CEQA reform represent particularly consequential threads for Humboldt County's development outlook, tying infrastructure, environmental review, and housing production into a single policy conversation that local realtors have a direct financial stake in shaping.
