The Crystal Falls District Community Library is marking Pi Day with a free afternoon concert, fresh pie and a one-day raffle, all starting at 2 p.m. today at 237 Superior Ave. in downtown Crystal Falls.

The Foucault Brothers, the duo of Roy and Paul Foucault, are headlining the Pi Day concert. True to the occasion, Roy and Paul promise to work "a song or two" about pie into their set.

"The concert is free of charge, and we do hope people come out for this unique event filled with good music and good food," Library Director Evelyn Gathu said.

During intermission, the Friends of the Crystal Falls District Community Library will serve pie. The Library Crochet Class spent time ahead of the event handcrafting a "Pie Afghan," a blanket featuring a crocheted pie worked into its squares, which will be raffled as a fundraiser. Raffle tickets are $5 for one or $10 for three, and all tickets must be purchased during event hours since it is a one-day-only raffle. The winning ticket will be drawn at 3:30 p.m.; the winner does not need to be present to claim the prize.

Anyone with questions can reach Gathu at 906-875-3344 or egathu@crystalfallslibrary.org.
