MSP Seeks Missing Iron River Couple Last Seen December 19
Paige Nichols, 32, and David Hunt II, 46, vanished from the Iron River area on Dec. 19 with no known clothing description; MSP believes they may be on foot.

Two Iron River residents disappeared into the Upper Peninsula winter on December 19, 2025, and Michigan State Police troopers from the Iron Mountain Post have been unable to confirm their wellbeing since.
The missing individuals are Paige Nichols, 32, and David Hunt II, 46. Nichols is described as a white female, approximately 5'2" tall, weighing 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Hunt is a white male, 5'9" and 215 pounds, with a bald or shaved head and green eyes. Neither description includes clothing, because investigators say it is unknown what either person was wearing at the time they were last seen.
MSP says the couple may be traveling on foot, a detail that takes on added weight given Iron County's densely forested terrain and the timing of their disappearance in the middle of December. Attempts to verify their wellbeing have not been successful.
The Iron Mountain Post is the lead agency coordinating the search. Anyone who saw Nichols or Hunt on or after December 19 in the Iron River area, or who has any information about their current whereabouts, is asked to call the Iron Mountain Post at 906-774-2122 or the MSP Negaunee Regional Communications Center at 866-411-0018.
As of the Mining Journal's reporting on January 3, 2026, MSP had not located the couple and the case remained active. No vehicle has been publicly associated with the pair, no named witnesses have been identified in official communications, and no cause for the disappearance has been disclosed by authorities.
