Northwoods Animal Shelter Hosts Baked Potato Dinner Fundraiser in Iron River
Northwoods Animal Shelter is serving up baked potatoes and desserts at the Iron River Senior Center this Sunday to raise funds for animals in its care.

Baked potatoes and desserts are on the menu this Sunday at the Iron River Senior Center, where Northwoods Animal Shelter will host its "Taters & Treats" fundraising dinner from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
The event takes place at 804 N. 4th Ave. on March 22, bringing together Iron County residents for an evening meal with proceeds benefiting the shelter's animals. Admission details, ticket prices, and a fundraising goal were not available at press time; contact Northwoods Animal Shelter directly for that information before attending.
The dinner is the latest in a string of community-based fundraising efforts the shelter has organized in Iron River. In 2024, NAS partnered with Super One Foods for a "Round It Up" checkout campaign that ran May 3 through May 20, asking shoppers to round their totals up to the nearest dollar at the register. A second round-up campaign followed at ACE Hardware from May 17 through May 24 of the same year. The shelter has described that model of small-scale giving as adding up to "a huge impact for animals in our care."

Looking further ahead on the NAS calendar, a bake sale at Bigari's is also listed among upcoming events. Anyone interested in contributing baked goods can drop off packaged and labeled items at the Northwoods Animal Shelter by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9; the shelter has not confirmed the year tied to that listing.
Sunday's dinner runs two hours, making it a quick stop for anyone looking to support local animal care before the workweek begins.
