Ski Brule's Brule Bash Mixes Costumes, Family Fun, and Late-Season Skiing
Costumed skiers earned half-price lift tickets at Ski Brule's Brule Bash on March 21-22, with the best outfit winning a full 2026-27 season pass.

Skiers who arrived in costume at Ski Brule on March 21 and 22 paid half price for lift tickets, and at least one walked away with something bigger: a full 2026-27 season pass awarded to the weekend's standout outfit.
The resort's annual Brule Bash drew families, kids, and costumed competitors to Brule Mountain Road in Iron River for a two-day late-season festival that filled both the slopes and the base area. Contestants came ready to compete, with entries ranging from 1990s throwbacks, including a Beavis and Butt-Head costume, to creative group ensembles, all vying for the season pass prize.
The "Dress Up & Save" promotion anchored the weekend's appeal: ski in costume, ski at half price. The incentive kept the lift line busy during a stretch when attendance typically thins as spring approaches, giving families a cost-friendly reason to make the trip to Iron River at the tail end of winter.
Off the mountain, the base area ran like a carnival. A petting zoo and dog sled rides drew younger visitors while balloon twisting, face painting, and a bounce house kept children occupied between runs. The Brule Saloon hosted live music throughout both days, adding to the festival atmosphere at the mountain's foot.
On the hill, participants took part in sack races and a photo scavenger hunt, spreading activity across the mountain rather than concentrating the crowd at the base.
The timing of Brule Bash is no accident. For Iron County's recreation economy, late-season events help close the gap between the final ski weekends and the arrival of spring fishing and hiking traffic. By pairing a cost-reducing promotion with programming that spans multiple age groups, Ski Brule generated lift ticket revenue, food and beverage sales, and lodging business for Iron River during a window that can otherwise go quiet. The season pass prize is also a built-in retention tool: whoever wore the winning costume in March already has a reason to return to Brule Mountain Road next December.
