Coupeville High Finishes 7-13 After 59-45 Playoff Loss to Orcas Island
Orcas Island beat Coupeville 59-45, ending the Wolves' season at 7-13 and capping Chase Anderson's career at 943 points, moving him into 7th on CHS's all-time list.

Orcas Island's 59-45 win on Orcas Island ended Coupeville High School's 2025-26 season, eliminating the Wolves from the District 1/2 playoffs and leaving the program with a 7-13 final record. The loss came Tuesday, Feb. 17, and marks the close of a campaign that saw bright spots amid late-season struggles.
"It’s hard to fight from behind all night." That line summed the night as Coupeville trailed for the bulk of the game and couldn't stage a comeback. Aiden O'Neill paced the Wolves in the playoff game with a team-high 14 points, while Davin Houston and Chase Anderson each added 10. Malachi Somes scored 6, Camden Glover had 3, and Easton Green contributed 2; Liam Blas, Riley Lawless and Carson Grove rounded out the rotation.

Season-long scoring showed where Coupeville leaned for offense. Chase Anderson finished the season with 344 points, Camden Glover 236, Davin Houston 118 and Aiden O'Neill 118. Malachi Somes totaled 68 for the season, Carson Grove 32, Riley Lawless 27, Easton Green 23, Liam Blas 16, Mahkai Myles 12 and Sage Arends 10. Those totals close out the official final season scoring list for the Wolves.

The playoff night also served as a milestone for Anderson. He passed Bill Riley's 934 career points to finish with 943 across four seasons of varsity ball, moving into 7th place on Coupeville High School's boys career scoring chart for a program in its 109th season. Anderson also finished with back-to-back seasons of 300+ points, a rare consistency for the Wolves in recent years.

Brad Sherman’s road warriors lose five players, including four starters, to graduation, a turnover that will shape offseason plans for the Wolves. Late-season results underscored the challenge: Coupeville dropped a 42-44 close decision to Friday Harbor on Feb. 12, fell 41-51 at Friday Harbor on Feb. 6 and lost 43-67 at Mount Vernon Christian on Jan. 27.
The official box score for the Feb. 17 game shows the 59-45 final, but the school has not released the names of the five departing graduates. With the postseason over, Coupeville enters an offseason of roster turnover and rebuilding under coach Brad Sherman as the program prepares for next year.
