Island County Ultrasound opens second location in Anacortes
A second Island County Ultrasound site in Anacortes gives Whidbey patients another nearby place for self-pay scans, prenatal imaging and wellness checks.

Whidbey families who want an ultrasound without a long referral chain now have a second Island County Ultrasound option in Anacortes. The expansion adds another place for self-pay imaging, elective prenatal scans, wellness screenings and diagnostic exams, a change that could matter most to pregnant patients, seniors and anyone trying to get answers without waiting on a hospital schedule.
Island County Ultrasound now says it serves both Coupeville and Anacortes. Its Coupeville office remains at 902 NE Center St., Coupeville, while the new Anacortes location is at 902 7th Street, Suite 101, inside Holding Space, Suite 102. The business lists 360-720-4463 as its phone number. On its site, the company says wellness screenings require no insurance and no referral, and that screenings start at $75.
For Island County residents, the practical gain is choice. A patient in Coupeville, Oak Harbor or south Whidbey who wants a pregnancy keepsake scan, thyroid check or other wellness screening now has a second local option rather than relying only on larger imaging departments. The move also broadens what the business offers. When Kulvinder Kaur opened Island County Ultrasound in May 2023, the company focused on family-centered scans and, at that time, did not provide diagnostic services. A South Whidbey Record profile that summer said it was then the only business on Whidbey offering color images and videos of fetuses in 3D, 4D and 5D in addition to 2D scans.

The current business model is wider. Island County Ultrasound now says it provides diagnostic ultrasounds with provider orders and superbills, along with elective prenatal imaging, 3D, 4D and 5D keepsake baby ultrasounds, and wellness screenings that include pelvic, breast, cardiovascular and multi-organ packages. The site also says it offers military discounts to active-duty service members, veterans and their families. That matters in a county where some patients want more privacy, clearer pricing and faster access than they can get through a traditional referral path.
The new Anacortes site does not eliminate every barrier. WhidbeyHealth says most diagnostic imaging appointments still require a provider order and may need prior authorization, and Island Health in Anacortes serves patients across Skagit, Island and San Juan counties through a broader hospital system. Still, Island County Ultrasound’s expansion gives local patients another direct path to image-based care, and for families trying to track a pregnancy, a lump or a wellness concern, that can mean one less delay before an answer.
