Kaua‘i High christened its new gym on December 18 with an exhibition KIF girls basketball game that ended in a convincing 49 to 16 victory for the Voyagers. The result was driven by senior low post Matea Nua, who scored 26 points and poured in 17 points after halftime, accounting for roughly 53 percent of the team's total scoring. The margin of victory was 33 points.

The event was staged as an exhibition to open the new facility, and coaches used expanded rotations to give more players meaningful minutes while showcasing the depth of the roster. The gymnasium atmosphere was described as celebratory, reflecting community interest in the upgraded venue and the school program.
