Kauai Planning Commission Recommends Approval of Tower Lagoon Subdivision Map

The Kauai Planning Commission's Subdivision Committee recommended approval of a final subdivision map for the Tower Lagoon development, according to public records from the county's Granicus system. The development is associated with the entity Tower Lagoon Sub One LLC, though the committee's official agenda listed the applicant for the corresponding docket, Subdivision Application No. S-2013-17, as the County of Kauai Department of Water.

The application covers Tax Map Key 1-2-002:001 in Kekaha, Waimea, and proposes a 2-lot subdivision. The relationship between Tower Lagoon Sub One LLC and the Department of Water listing on the Granicus docket has not been fully reconciled in publicly available records, and the county's full transcript and meeting minutes would clarify whether the entity appears elsewhere in the record for the same parcel.

The Tower Lagoon item was not the only business before the committee. Also on the agenda under tentative subdivision action was Application No. S-2014-12, filed by Kealoha and Kimberly Estrella, proposing a 2-lot consolidation of parcels at Tax Map Key 4-6-004:028 and 061 in Kawaihau.

The committee also opened a new public hearing on the adoption of Interpretive Administrative Zoning Rules and Regulations, known as KPAR, by the Kauai Planning Commission.
