Kauai Police Arrest Logs Now Available Daily on County Website
Kauaʻi Police Department posts daily arrest log PDFs directly to the county website, putting who was charged and when just a click away for any resident.

Daily arrest logs from the Kauaʻi Police Department are now accessible to any resident with an internet connection, posted as downloadable PDF reports directly on the Kauai County government website without requiring a public records request or an in-person visit to the station on Kaana Street in Lihue.
The Arrest Log page on kauai.gov lists individual Media-Arrest-Report PDF files organized by date and timestamp. During the March 18 through March 20, 2026 reporting window, a separate PDF was available for each day, giving the public a near-real-time record of who was taken into custody and charged.
Each arrest record typically includes the full name of the arrested individual, the date and time of the arrest, and details of the alleged offense. The daily format means the information is refreshed each morning rather than compiled into weekly or monthly summaries.
Arrest records are public in Kauai County, in accordance with the Hawaii Uniform Information Practices Act, which mandates that government records be open to the public unless otherwise protected. Most information is releasable to individuals when certain conditions are met under UIPA, codified in Hawaii Revised Statutes chapter 92F.
The PDF system offers a direct alternative to calling the department's Records Section, which asks that report requests allow 48 hours for a response. For residents who want to check recent activity without waiting, the online logs close that gap considerably.
Arrest records are public in Kauai County, available for public request from government agencies at the federal, state, and county levels. Those who need records beyond the arrest log, including police reports and accident reports, can reach the KPD Records Section at (808) 241-1661. For questions about a specific arrest, the department's general line is (808) 241-1711.
All individuals listed in the arrest logs are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
