Kauai Police Seek Public Help Identifying Līhuʻe Hit-and-Run Driver
A white Chevy Silverado struck a 61-year-old man on Kamalu Road and fled before officers arrived. KPD needs tips to identify the driver.

Kauaʻi police are asking anyone who drove through the Wailua Homesteads area of Līhuʻe on the morning of March 13 to come forward after a driver struck a 61-year-old man on Kamalu Road and fled before first responders arrived.
Officers responded at approximately 10:45 a.m. to the southbound shoulder of Kamalu Road, between ʻŌhe Street and Kuamoʻo Road, where the man had been hit by a vehicle. He was transported to Wilcox Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and was later released.
The driver never stopped. Evidence recovered at the scene led investigators to identify the suspect vehicle as a white Chevrolet Silverado from model years 2007 to 2011. No license plate number has been released, and no arrests have been made.
Kauaʻi Police Department investigators are now relying on the public to help narrow the search. Anyone who saw a white Silverado of that era traveling along Kamalu Road near ʻŌhe Street or Kuamoʻo Road around 10:45 a.m. on March 13 is urged to contact Acting Lieutenant Michael Nii directly at (808) 241-1638, or reach KPD Dispatch at (808) 241-1711.
