Patients scheduled for same-day procedures at Wilcox Medical Center in Līhuʻe will need to find a new way in starting Monday. The hospital's Same-Day Surgery entrance and corridor will close for construction beginning March 30 and remain closed through April 26, a 28-day window that redirects patients, visitors, HandiVans and all public drop-off traffic to alternate entrances.

During the closure, Same-Day Surgery check-in moves to Conference Room A, located off the main lobby. Hawaii Pacific Health, which operates Wilcox, identified three access routes to reach it: the Wilcox Infusion Center entrance facing Walmart, the Spine entrance at the front of the medical center next to the Gift Shop, and the breezeway connecting Wilcox to Kauaʻi Medical Clinic.

For drop-off and pickup, the Infusion Center entrance facing Walmart is the closest option. The Spine entrance is also available. Hawaii Pacific Health is explicit that all public traffic and HandiVans must use one of those two entrances for patient drop-off and pickup; no exceptions are noted.

Visitors coming to access Medical Records have a separate route: the back entrance across from Sun Village. Hawaii Pacific Health asks that visitors not park in Sun Village during construction; a drive-through area near that entrance is available for short-term parking.

The Wilcox Café will stay open throughout construction, keeping its regular hours of 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Self-checkout kiosks remain available around the clock for grab-and-go items, accessible through the alternate entrances.

All other entrances at the medical center will remain open during the construction period. For maps of the alternate routes and images of each entrance, Hawaii Pacific Health has posted full guidance at HawaiiPacificHealth.org/Wilcox/Construction. Wilcox Medical Center can also be reached directly at (808) 245-1100.
