Hayden Chamber of Commerce ambassadors joined Heritage Health team members Thursday at the Heritage Health Center for Healthy Living to celebrate the official groundbreaking of the $4 million “phase two” expansion project at 3700 W. Seltice Way. The ceremony marked a major step toward consolidating multiple care services on a single campus in the Hayden/Coeur d’Alene area.

Medical, dental, pediatric, behavioral health, substance use treatment, psychiatry, pharmacy services and workforce training services through Heritage Health will soon come together under one roof. Phase Two involves an expansion of Primary Care and Pediatric services as well as introducing Pharmacy and Dental services to their campus on Seltice Way, moving several lines of care into closer physical and operational proximity.

The project is identified as Phase Two and is anticipated to be completed by the latter half of 2026. CEO Mike Baker previously told the Press the project “will serve to further Heritage Health's commitment to preventative health through physical fitness and healthy lifestyle choices.” For residents, consolidating services on the Seltice Way campus aims to reduce the logistical burden of traveling to separate offices for primary care, dental care, behavioral health or pharmacy needs.

The Hayden Chamber of Commerce welcomed the expansion in a brief statement shared Friday, calling the project “a win for our region and the people who call it home.” The Chamber’s statement added, in part, “Huge shoutout to Heritage Health for continuing to invest in healthier living for our community.” Those comments underscore local business and civic support for investments that promise both health and economic benefits.

Public health experts emphasize that integrated care models can improve access and continuity of care, particularly for patients with complex needs such as chronic conditions or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Adding workforce training services on site may also help build local health-sector capacity and create pathways into clinical jobs for Kootenai County residents, though details on program structure and staffing have not yet been released.

The ceremony took place Feb. 8, 2026, at the Heritage Health Center for Healthy Living, and attendees included Hayden Chamber ambassadors and Heritage Health team members. Heritage Health has not released additional operational details such as contractor names, funding breakdown, or phased service openings; those items remain to be disclosed as construction progresses.

The groundbreaking arrives amid a stretch of local development. A 33-unit, mixed-use “Nonna” building is planned across from Post Falls City Hall on Spokane Street with anticipated completion October of 2026. Construction is underway at Rooted Social House, 310 N. Spokane St., described as “an elevated space offering food, coffee, tea and entertainment in a social house setting,” with no completion date announced. A Jiffy Stop is under construction at Highway 41 and Lancaster Road in Rathdrum. A state-of-the-art pickleball facility called The Flying Pickle is planned at The Pointe at Post Falls at 140 N. Beck Road with an anticipated opening by mid-2026. An AutoZone is under construction at U.S. 95 and Dakota Avenue in Hayden, next to Dirty Birdy Car Wash.

For Kootenai County residents, Phase Two promises more coordinated access to primary and specialty services closer to home and the potential for local jobs tied to health care and training. As construction moves forward, residents can expect announcements about service timelines and hiring; advocates and public-health partners will be watching how Heritage Health translates consolidation into improved access and equity across the community.
